Lady Gaga e The Weeknd são os destaques do VMA 2020: veja a lista completa

Uma das maiores premiações da música internacional, o MTV Video Music Awards de 2020, aconteceu nesse domingo (30/8) após meses de incertezas por conta da Covid-19, doença causada pelo novo coronavírus. A premiação, que aconteceu em Nova York, teve Lady Gaga como a maior vencedora da noite e The Weeknd levando a principal categoria. Informações do site Metrópoles*

Por conta da Covid-19, o VMA 2020 foi apresentado ao ar livre e contou com shows em vários locais de Nova York e Los Angeles. The Weeknd abriu as apresentações com performance de Blinding Lights. O cantor desbancou Lady Gaga e levou o principal prêmio do evento, o de Clipe do Ano, pela mesma música.

Maior vencedora da noite, Gaga foi homenageada com o primeiro Tricon Award, da MTV. Além disso, a cantora recebeu outros quatro prêmios, um deles o de Artista do Ano. “Todo mundo sempre soube, se estivessem saindo comigo, que eu estava em uma missão de espalhar alegria pela cultura, pela dança, pela música”, declarou Gaga ao receber o prêmio.

Especialmente para esta edição foram criadas duas categorias para homenagear os artistas que continuaram produzindo durante a pandemia: Melhor Performance da Quarentena e Melhor Clipe Caseiro.
